If she wants someone to talk to, she should know enough people who are actually conversational and don't mind other's butting into their living arrangements.]

[It takes her a while - it's so frustrating, she can see the screen so easily, too easily, but focusing her hands takes away that concentration and - finally when it's been five entire minutes she takes the device out of her lap and consoles herself that even her peripheral vision will pick up, like candy lying on a sidewalk, the motion of a new line.

She just feels strange not seeing him today. Quite possibly... not being the same species as him anymore... it had become a kind of reassuring routine. Of course, this is a stupid sentiment fueled by her own uncertainty about what she's becoming, and her ignorance about what happened after she died (another area in which he was unsurprisingly unhelpful), and her guilt about lying around inside sick instead of working.

Hopefully she can make it up to him somehow next time, not that she's ever figured out how to do that in other matters so far.]
